A massive part of BooLou is doing the makeup for bridal parties all over the UK, I have decided to do a blog post dedicated to Weddings.
Firstly meeting the bride at her trial is very important to me, I use this as an opportunity to learn all about the bride as an individual and also hear all about the wedding details, including her dress and hair styles. I really enjoy finding out about her bridal party and family, and it’s lovely when the bridal party are present at the trial too, I feel most people are more relaxed on the wedding day when we have met beforehand.
I also love hearing about the couple, how they met, how long they have been an item and how she was proposed to, this is such a magical thing to hear about as a brides eyes really light up when she tells me all the details of their proposal story.
But for me the best part of the trial is finishing the bridal makeup look I have created and seeing their reaction, from big smiles, to tears of joy, the best feeling in the world is when the bride is 100% happy with her finished look.
Of course sometimes tweaks have to made, such as trying different lipsticks until we find the right one or adjusting the blusher tones, highlighter etc, I encourage everyone to be completely honest if they want to try something different, my aim is to make each bride feel 100% confident with the way they look. The main thing about bridal makeup is to stay looking like you, but the best version of you, to look completely different might not help you feel the most confident and your husband to be wants to see you walking down the aisle not a stranger.
To be present on a wedding morning is an absolute privilege for me, as this is a very important time for the bride to be with her family and bridal party before the wedding. I am always so chuffed when the feedback from my brides is that I slotted in so well and it felt like having another friend present rather than someone just doing a job. As well as making each and every person look fabulous, one of my main goals on a wedding morning is to help the bridal party, especially the bride remain relaxed and really enjoy the experience.
I feel so lucky to meet so many amazingly talented wedding professionals and I love having the chance to work alongside them time and time again, I also think that it puts a bride’s mind at ease to know that the people she has chosen have worked together before and work well as a team. Here are some of my favourite wedding vendors in the Cotswolds:

One of the best parts of my job is speaking to the bride after the wedding to hear all about their special day and getting sent beautiful testimonials and photos that I can share with everyone. Here are some lovely testimonials and photos from some of my past brides, picked at random. 🙂
“My super talented Makeup Artist Lucy Pearce who made me look amazing!! The bridesmaids and my Mummy also looked stunning. Thank you for keeping me calm and helping my Mummy get me in to my dress.” – Emily
“Lucy helped to make the whole morning of my wedding run like clockwork – from sorting a timetable for the bridesmaids, to lacing me up in my dress! The make-up was perfect, and lasted throughout the evening perfectly – she made me feel so at ease at the trial, that come the big day I knew I had nothing to worry about!” – Liz
“Lucy is a dream. Calm, cool, confident and creative. She will come up with ideas that suit you and take you in hand or she will listen to you and do exactly that. Either way you’ll look spectacular and everyone will comment on how beautiful you are. Thank you Lucy.” – Pippa
